...and wot's the bell like, Colin?
What, no Lighthouse Keeping Loonies !
Oh I get it. Alan's called Vim and your mums dead.
I was lucky enough to see Bad News at the Monsters of Rock Castle Donnington concert. They were hilarious and the audience threw a lot of plastic bottles at them... but in a nice way.
Pish
Frightfully Groovy!!!!!!
Futuristic Metal!
But we're more modern than futuristic
@@ricardoshillyshally343 in some ways the bad news performance at the Roxy in Grantham was a seminal revolutionary moment in music history that changed the way we all think about heavy metal in a metaphysical way
Most of the clips that were probably shown have been on UA-cam for years so this "copyright" thing is rubbish, matthew butler singing bright eyes has been on youtube in various videos for yonks, so I don't know why they said this..... 😊
The Stooges short Vic mentions is They Stooge to Conga, widely regarded as the most violent Stooge short ever and one of my favorites too
bobs teeth?
Love these 2, could have watched them for hours ❤
The comedy award with Marcus Brigstocke? What next, the peace in our time award with Mr V Putin? Do not mistake Radio 4 canned laughter with being funny, they're usually the complete opposite.
I was at that Donington festival.forever pleased i was there !😂
Bob Carolgees could he use his right hand for spit the dog
Well, The Goodies were funny but I found the others annoying.
"All comedians think the are rock stars, and all rock stars think they are comedians"
Hey Mr Bassman... Get the fucking nightbus home
I saw Bad News on the album tour. It was the funniest night of my life by some distance. What really struck me, though, was how good a drummer Peter Richardson actually was. The whole thing was, if not virtuosic, at least musically coherent, and some of the songs they never recorded were excellent...
When younger, I remember I used to watch every show these two great comedians put on. Watched every episode. I'm grateful I belong to that era when entertainment meant entertainment. Thank you both for sharing your wonderful world of comedy with us and also, thank you Mathew for this opportunity. It is much appreciated.
An amazing time in British Comedy, so prolific and to think of all the other works mentioned that only existed at the time unlike today. BTW went to see Bad News playing at Hammeresmith and they had Brian May come on so it wasn't only the Marquee. Also meet them all at a signing promo at Virgin on Oxford Road and they were all really friendly.
Richardson looks like David Attenborough!

"Working in a bank!"
You promised you wouldn't mention that
It’s a pity that a comedy minnow like Brigstocke conducted the interview.
Bit pointless when you can't see the clips
I got the first Bad News album on tape age 13 Christmas 1987....from my Nan! She had absolutely no idea bless er. Still got it.
I have a copy of the album signed by all except Colin Grigson as Rik was ill. Was Mike Lloyds Music in Hanley.
Opened for Mötörhead, winning. 🤘
I loved Tiswas and spent Saturday mornings in bed watching. Very sad that Lenny chose not to be there. Maybe it doesn't fit in with his current thoughts but i think he should have made the effort as he was brilliant. Sadly Frank Carson didn't get a mention but he was a genuinely funny man. The sketch when the team was trying not to laugh at him is a classic and on you tube....RIP Frank. Well done and thank you all for making Saturday mornings so special😅
I was at that Marquee gig….. I got a thank you from Ben Elton for holding the door open for him. 😄
ua-cam.com/video/jhO_Y-b8aUE/v-deo.html
…..Quo, Motörhead errr Saxon
Spider webb and den dennis lol my fave comic strips were both bad news and more bad news
Life imitated art with The Darkness. The Hawkins brothers were EXACTLY like Rick and Peter in Bad News!
Even to this day I still can't decide if a cow is a domesticated animal or a wild animal.
Heavy metal cow gives me heavy metal milk.
@mayomonkey3810 Colin Gregson, oity toity faking oit!
Listen to me drinking, drinky drinky drink, listen to me when I go 🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮! E.M.I. Every Mistake Imaginable
RIP Colin Grigson, Bass player, Bank clerk…..I still quote Bad News /More bad news / the album one liners after all these years ….the quality of writing and comedy was absolutely genius. I really miss the 4 of them, and always held out for a reunion, until Rik untimely passed away…..a fist full of travellers cheques was also absolute genius….bless these men for providing such light and laughter in my life for so long….btw I’m 53 now …time flys.
🙂
i think there was a lot more to Lemmy than meets the eye
Saw em castle donington 1986 and Reading 1987 where they were seconds from being bottled off
Hello Brian?
The first gig I went to was Bad News in Hanley in 1987. It was fantastic and fantastically funny. They like Beefheart and Zappa too. Oh that cheers the heart.
I was lucky to attend TISWAS at the ATV studios back in 1980 with many from our school in Droitwich Worcester, We had a great mad time there" something that i will never forget, 💯👌👍
If memory serves me right I can remember Vim Fuego smashing his guitar on the Donington stage and they hadn’t even played a song at that point🤘
that would explain why he straps on a red tigerstripe exploreresque guitar at the beginnibng and seems to play the whole gig on a black strat.
Bad news and more Bad news was much more funnier that This is spinal tap!
Who’s that playing bass?
🐵🐵🐵🐵🐵👯🐵🐵🐵🐵
It’s a shame that Stewart Lee looks like the New Yorker’s favourite post-modernist Donald Barthelme.
Barthelme’s really let himself go, by some accounts.
Great Days 😁
Although sausagesS is a part of my lexicon I objected to paying to play at Donnington - had not seen it for years until it popped up on my feed and here we are - don’t think some of it has aged well but it’s up there with the Tap
Why bother even posting if you’ve ripped out all the clips and inserted so many boring ads.
